Why Constipation Is Too Dangerous To Ignore

There is probably no condition that goes untreated as often as constipation. Nor is there any condition that occurs with greater overall frequency than constipation. While the symptoms of constipation are relatively mild and tend to be limited to: difficulty passing stool, hard or dry stool, and infrequent bowel movements. In more severe cases, constipation may also include nausea, severe abdominal or lower back pain, and even bloody stool. Constipation is a very common condition because it can be caused by a large number of factors. In the vast majority of cases, poor diet and a lack of physical exercise are thought to be the cause of the constipation-and where not the actual cause, at least contributing factors. Dairy products, greasy foods, alcohol, and caffeine are just a few of the products we consume that can lead to constipation problems. Chronic constipation is a real possibility when improper nutrition and poor lifestyle have been consistent issues. Common Constipation Causes While chronic constipation problems are usually the result of poor diet and lifestyle, temporary constipation can be caused by a host of factors. A heavy night...

Are You Being Troubled By Sinusitis?

It is said that around 30 per cent of all people suffer from sinusitis or sinus infection at least once each year. Sinuses are little air pockets inside the skull bones. They are located to either side of the nose, behind and in between the eyes, in the forehead, and behind the head. Sinuses contain mucus that drains into the nasal passageways through pin holes in the sinuses. A sinus infection happens when the paranasal sinuses on either side of the nose get inflamed. This happens during a cold or an allergy attack, when more histamines are produced in the paranasal sinuses. The inflammation blocks the narrow passageways, making the mucus collect there. This collected mucus soon becomes a breeding ground for bacteria. That s how a sinus infection begins. The body produces histamines during allergic reactions. Histamines are neuro-transmitter chemicals. Though histamines are always present in our body, an allergy attack causes more histamines to be released at the site of the allergy attack. When a mosquito bites, for example, histamines are released at the area of the bite making the skin there turn red and itchy. When histamines are...

How Does Your Fear Of Failure Stop You

I started leading a new project this week. This one is different from projects I have lead in the past. I was nervous. I wanted to succeed but I did not know exactly what to expect. I could not anticipate how the project would turn out. Although I knew I had the skills to do the job, I questioned myself. As the clients entered the meeting room, my heart raced and my palms began to sweat. Mentally I made excuses as to why taking on this project was a bad idea. I planned how I would tell the clients why I was the wrong person to lead the project. I wanted to run away. Then something in my consciousness clicked. I realized that I was afraid to fail. I was prepared to step out of leadership because of this fear. I was ready to quit before I started because I felt afraid. Quitting would have been the greatest failure of all. I took a deep breath. I focused not on the fear but on the project at hand, deciding to give it my best effort. I told myself that if I did fail, it would not be because I had run away. This experience reminded me of what it feels like to retreat in the face of failure. Client after client comes into my office wanting to make a...

Healthy Gums Healthier Body, Mind And Spirit

Healthy gums play a key role in maintaining a healthy body. Beyond keeping your smile bright, there are several reasons to keep your gums healthy, including reducing your risk of major illnesses, saving time and money and preventing tooth loss. Reduce the Risk of Major Illnesses A recent study found that there is a link between gum disease and narrowing of the arteries, or a process known as atherosclerosis, which can lead to heart disease and strokes. In fact, if you have periodontal disease, you may be twice as likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease as those without it. Gum disease also poses a problem for people whose health is already compromised due to diabetes and increases the risk of premature, underweight births among pregnant women. Although researchers will continue to explore these relationships, you can take action to protect your gums by remembering to 1 brush your teeth twice a day and 2 floss or use another type of interdental cleaner once a day. A timesaving alternative for those who don t floss is the new Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet. It is an easy, effective alternative that fits effortlessly into existing oral...
